Fethiye Çetin was born in Maden, Elazığ in 1950. She completed her primary and secondary education in Mahmudiye, Maden and Elazığ. She graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Law. She was the lawyer of Hrant Dink, the assassinated editor-in-chief of the Turkish-Armenian newspaper Agos, Human Rights Executive Committee member of Istanbul Bar Association and spokesperson of its Minority Rights Working Group, and following the assassination of Hrant Dink, the representative of Dink’s family. She still represents Dink’s family and Hrant Dink Foundation. She is the writer of the following books: Anneannem (My Grandmother, Metis, 2004; Verso, 2008), Torunlar (Grandchildren, with Ayşe Gül Altınay, Metis, 2009) and Utanç Duyuyorum! Hrant Dink Cinayetinin Yargısı (I am Ashamed! The Trials of the Hrant Dink Murder Case, Metis, 2013).
