ıoanna kuçuradi

İoanna Kuçuradi was born in Istanbul in 1936. She graduated from the Zappeion Greek Gymnasium for Girls in Istanbul in 1954 and the Department of Philosophy of Istanbul University in 1959; she completed her Ph.D. in 1965 at the same department and university. Between 1965 and 1968, she worked at Erzurum Atatürk University. In 1968, she joined Hacettepe University and there, she established the Department of Philosophy that she chaired until her retirement in 2003. She became an Associate Professor in 1970 and a full Professor in 1978. She also established the Centre of Research and Application of Human Rights at Hacettepe University in 1997, where she worked as a Director until March 2005. Holding the position of UNESCO Chair for Philosophy and Human Rights since 1998, İoanna Kuçuradi was appointed to the Department of Philosophy of Maltepe University in 2006. She currently works as the Director of the Human Rights Centre of Maltepe University and the MA Programme of Human Rights.
