kırkayak kültür

Kırkayak Kültür started as an arts and culture initiative in 2007 by a group of academics, lawyers, doctors, and journalists from Gaziantep, and was established as a non-profit NGO in 2011 under Kırkayak Kültür, Sanat ve Doğa Derneği (Kırkayak Culture, Art and Nature Association). Kırkayak's activities were designed to increase social development, promote democratic values, and create the conditions of a pluralist life. While following this mission, Kırkayak Kültür aims to improve and extend the cooperation between the artists, activists in the fields of arts and culture, and non-governmental organisations in Turkey, the Middle East, and Europe; accordingly, it cooperates with artists, non-governmental organisations, municipalities and local initiatives; and works with disadvantaged groups, refugees, and migrants to contribute to social cohesion and a culture of coexistence. Kırkayak Kültür continues its activities with a social development-oriented, participatory and multi-voice approach under the following programs: Culture and Arts Program, Migrants and Refugees Program, Mutfak || Matbakh Workshop Program and Dom Research Program.
